Parent Meeting
7:30 PM
We all love our children and want the best for them. We want them to succeed in life and feel good about themselves.
But new brain research challenges some fundamental parenting practices, pointing out that globally praising our children may actually encourage them to give up, not to take risks, and undermine their motivation and autonomy. Join with others parents on Wednesday, March 24, in Centennial Hall to hear more about these research findings and discuss ways to support and encourage our children without creating an unintended negative reaction. You will discover that when children realize that effort is the key to success they try harder and when the brain thinks about something challenging it grows and develops.
