Young Sprout Day Camp
First United’s Young Sprout Day Camp is a summer day camp experience with an emphasis on nature study and science discovery. During the day, children will take walks to the parks, play on the playground and will participate in science and art experiences based on a three-week unit topic. Literature, music and cooking experiences are also a part of the camp curriculum and a hose and sprinkler are set up on the front yard of the church for water frolic one day each week. Camp is fun!
Teachers may plan excursions as part of curriculum if it enhances the topic of study. Parents are often invited to assist with an excursion during their child’s camp attendance.
Kelly green camp t-shirts with the camp logo printed in white are available. Shirts are ordered and prepaid at the time of registration.
Children eligible for camp must be three by June 1, 2012, and toilet-trained. Camp is open to children ages three to six. Children between kindergarten and first grade are welcome at Young Sprout Day Camp and will be together in one classroom. There are seven class groupings.
